词汇是语言教学中不可或缺的重要环节。在现代语言教学中,不同教学法主导的课堂教学时期,词汇教学经历了不同阶段:结构大纲时期以孤立的下定义、对等翻译等为主;功能-意念大纲时期强调语境、自然学习;词汇大纲时期的词汇中心论的回归。词汇教学的变化反映了在语言教学中词汇逐渐从次要的、被忽视的、从属的地位中摆脱出来,正发挥着越来越重要的作用。

This paper gives an overview of how vocabulary has been presented throughout the history of language teaching activities.The purpose of this paper is to indicate that the vocabulary focuses in L2 lexical pedagogy from definition and equivalent translation to contextualized,natural communicative use reflect the fact that vocabulary teaching is increasingly seen to play a crucial rather than secondary and ignored role in the development of language teaching.
