Construction Grammar is built on the basis of Cognitive Linguistics and takes the cognitive approach.It attaches great importance to construction,and regards a construction as a form-meaning pair,some aspect of which is unpredictable.This article introduces the cognitive basis of Construction Grammar and its main ideas.Then the instructive impact laid on the study of the acquisition of English as a second language is discussed to improve English instruction.
