SpongeBob SquarePants,an American animated film,is analyzed from the perspective of Relevance Theory.The focuses of this analysis are the successful and unsuccessful translations in the film and the suitability of direct translation and indirect translation.And through this analysis,the influence and interpretation of Relevance Theory on cartoon film translation has been shown.
