关于“地球村”概念的质疑与思考

A Challenge to "Global Village"

麦克卢汉认为,由于电力媒介的参与,世界正在变成一个地球村。但是,卢氏仅仅从媒介决定论出发,认为世界正在逐步变小。可是实际上,由于经济、政治等因素的干预,世界不但没有变小,反而正在变大。正是由于电力媒介的出现,人口问题、资源问题、环境问题、贫困与饥饿、和平与发展问题等等都极大地阻碍着世界交流;发达国家和发展中国家之间世界信息鸿沟越来越大;同时,世界的多样性和多元性展示在我们的面前。地球村时代真的到来了吗?我们遗憾地看到,地球并没有因为电子媒介而变小。

M.McLuhan argues that the world is changing into a global village because of electric media.He thinks that world is gradually becoming smaller and smaller merely from the perspective of media determinism.In fact,the world is getting bigger and bigger because of the intervention of the economic and political factors.With electric media,the problems such as overpopulation,resource shortages,environment pollution,poverty and famines,issues of peace and development greatly obstruct the communication of the world.The information gap between the developed countries and the developing countries becomes wider and wider.Meanwhile,the world presents people its diversity and multiplicity.Does the age of ＂global village＂ really come？ It is really a pity to realize that the world does not become smaller under the influence of the electric media.
