A brief Analysis on "Westernized Chinese Style"

"中体西用"思想产生于19世纪60年代,所含内容极为广泛。这一思想的形成与发展有其历史必然性,是中西文化冲突与社会危机的产物。在"洋务运动"时期,其实践虽以失败告终,但其影响却至为深远。

The comprehensive thought ＂Westernized Chinese Style＂ appeared in the 19th century during the 1860s.The formation and development of this thought has its historical inevitability.It is a product of the East-West cultural conflicts and social crisis.Although its practice ended in failure during that period,the effect is profound.
