On the Critical Spirits of the Intellectuals

知识分子的批判精神是指知识分子所应具有的对社会和自己的思想和言行,以及对其所掌握的知识、理论和实践的反思、检讨、批评、否弃与创新。知识分子要不辱使命,坚定地站在人民的立场上,运用马克思主义的观点和方法,积极从事思维前提的批判、理论的批判和实践的批判,为中国人民的幸福,为中华民族的伟大复兴,为中国特色社会主义理论体系的完善和发展,为了全人类的进步,做出自己应有的贡献。

The critical spirit of the intellectuals refers to reconsideration,self-criticism,critique,abandoning and innovation of not only their thoughts,words and deeds which they should acquire for society or for themselves but also the knowledge,theory and practice they possess.Intellectuals have inborn missions to stand side by side with the people,actively take up thought critique,theoretical critique and practical critique by putting to use Marxism viewpoint and methods.Therefore,they can make a great contribution to the happiness of Chinese people,to the great revival of Chinese Nationality,to the perfection and development of socialism theoretical system with Chinese characteristics,and to the progress of all mankind.
