高校思想政治教育坚持以人为本的理念,旨在强调高校思想政治教育要以促进大学生个体的全面发展为根本,充分尊重思想政治教育对象的差异性,为每个大学生的健康成长提供支持、关心和帮助。高校思想政治教育工作应从促进思想政治教育自身和大学生的全面发展以及增强思想政治教育的实效性三个方面出发,以此开拓高校思想政治教育的新路径。

Ideological and political education of institutions of higher learning should be based on the people --oriented conception, which aims to facilitate the comprehensive development of individuals of students, respect the differentiation of the subject of ideological and political education, and provide support, care, and help for the healthy growth of each student. Ideological and political education should be carried out from the three aspects of facilitating the comprehensive development of ideological and political education itself and college students as well as the effectiveness of ideological and political education.
