摘要
本文对加的夫语法进行介绍和评论。首先简单论述了加的夫语法的产生与发展。接着对加的夫语法理论的重点方面进行了介绍,包括该理论的基本思想、基本模式和体现Fawcett提出的八大功能的基本语法模式。第三,提出了加的夫语法的五个特点:形式和意义的双向性;互动性与认知性的统一;一体化的句法结构;不同类型的意义由句法结构中的不同成分体现;语义系统是在语言可及的范围内。最后,根据加的夫语法与Halliday系统功能语法的关系,对它的作用和地位进行了简单评论,认为它是系统功能语言学内部的一个语法模式,与Halliday的系统功能语法基本上是互补的,对于系统功能语言学的发展将起到促进作用。
The present article surveys the Cardiff Grammar.First,it briefly shows the origin and development of the Cardiff Grammar.Then it introduces the major aspects of the Cardiff Grammar,including its basic ideological stance,basic model and the basic grammatical patterns.Thirdly,it presents five characteristics of Cardiff Grammar:(1) the bidirectionality of form and meaning,(2) the unification of cognition and interaction,(3) the unified syntactic structure,(4) the realization of the different types of meanings by different elements of the syntactic structure,and(5) the semantic system being within the boundaries of the linguistic system.Finally,it comments briefly on the status and role of the Cardiff Grammar in view of its relationship with Halliday's systemic functional grammar.
