摘要
儒学发展经历三期是儒学史的共识,但是,儒学第三期发展的进路究竟如何,则是一个悬而未决的问题。一般认定的儒学第三期发展就是应接民主与科学,儒学第三期发展的内涵实际上复杂得多:从精神层面上,它要应对基督教的挑战,从制度层面上,它要承接民主与科学依托的现代性制度,从日常生活层面,它必须对多元文化局面做出回应。在明确的儒学道统意识引导下的现代性儒学建构,需要更为高超的现代学术建构为之支撑,而心性儒学的进路则不足以完成现代性儒学建构的任务。儒学只有在走出道统辩护的前提下,树立更为广阔的理论视野,应对中国社会政治转型的现实,面向全球化时代的精神重建,才能真正实现儒学第三期发展的宏大目标。
Although it's a consensus that Confucianism has undergone three stages of development, the achievement of the third stage is still a mystery. Generally speaking, the third stage should follow democracy and science but it's more complicated: on the spiritual level, it meets with the challenge of Christianity; on the system level, it carries on the modem system supported by democracy and science ; on the level of daily life, it must respond to diverse cultures. The construction of modem Confucianism directed by explicit Confucian theory calls for the support from the construction of highly superb modem learning while the idealistic Confucianism is unable to accomplish the task of construction. The third-stage development can only be achieved by staying away from the defending of the theory, possessing broader vision in theory, handling properly the transformation of China's social politics and carrying out a spiritual reconstruction at the age of globalization.
