The Effect of National Identity on Iran's Nuclear Policy

Since 2006, the UN Security Council has passed four resolutions on sanctions on the Iranian nuclear issue. Despite the strong international pressure, Iran has always insisted on the right of peaceful use of nuclear energy, and also promoted the nuclear technology in an orderly way. In this international context, Iran has adopted a tough policy： persisting in developing nuclear technology and being ready to pay any price. This policy is the result of many considerations made by the decision-makers. The Iranian national identity and cultural values are the motivation and strong spiritual foundation of Iran＇s nuclear policy, and wiU also affect the future implementation of the policy.
