This article analyses the characteristics of the traditional urban fabric of former Japanese concession distract in Hankow,from the point of views of urban morphology,and examines the challenges facing by the contemporary urban redevelopment.It also concludes with a discussion that the complexity and hybrid is also the energy of this district redevelopment,but the present large scale development pattern is destroying the local logic here,therefore,searching for a new kind of multi-storey development model become an urgent task.
