林语堂是我国现代著名的学者、文学家和翻译家,是一位学贯中西的语言大家。在他的翻译思想里较明确地提出了翻译是一门艺术,翻译须研究心理、忠实的方法是句译等观点。本文即通过分析林语堂的"论翻译"一文来介绍他的主要翻译观点。

Lin Yutang is a famous Chinese modem scholar, writer and translator. Hc is a great language master both in Chinese and othcr foreign languages. As a translator, hc points out that translation is a free art, to study translation nccd analyze psychology, sentence translation is the right method of faithful translation, and so on. Through the analysis of Lin Yutang＇s article On Translation, this paper tries to introduce his main translation thoughts.
