The state space structure of the Generalized Predictive Control(GPC) was analyzed, the characteristic equation and the transfer function of the closed-loop system were derived, The conditions of stability of the closed-loop system were presented, and the rank of the closed-loop system was discussed. It was pointed out that GPC didn’t change the zero points of the system, but could eliminate the effects of the time-delay. The properties of the closed-loop system while setting the weighting coefficient to zero were discussed.
