Study on China's Industrial Upgrading based on the Modular Division——a Case Study of Chinese Mobile Phone Industry

随着全球经济一体化的加速,模块化在发展中国家嵌入全球生产网络中发挥了越来越重要的作用。然而,模块化知识特性带来的技术创新障碍,模块化与集成化动态转化带来的市场风险,国外品牌与本地草根企业的双重夹击,也成为影响我国产业升级的深层次原因。国产手机制造业的兴衰充分验证了以上观点。

With the acceleration of global economic integration, modularity has been playing an increasingly important role in embedding in global production networks for developiag countries. However, Chinese industrial upgrading is also affected by the technological innovation barriers from modular characteristics of knowledge, market risk of the dynamic transforming from modularity to integration or vice versa, with challenges coming from both foreign brands and local grass-roots enterprises. The rise and decline of domestic mobile phone manufacttirers fully verify this view.
