This paper focuses on＂Snow White＂,the classic work of Donald Barthelme,arepresentative writer of postmodernist literature.It analyzes how the novelist adopts ＂Inter-textuality＂ as a postmodern text-strategy,employs writing techniques like collage,and parody,deconstructs and recreates classic fairy tales which represent the popular culture.The paper also reveals how the author demonstrates the mental status of modern people by fragmented language,characters and narration as an effort to criticize the popular culture as the imprisonment of people in modern society.
