第3代移动通信技术(3G)是指将无线通信与国际互联网等多媒体通信结合的新一代移动通信系统。概述了3G技术的概念与特征,分析了利用3G技术开展农业信息服务的可行性,并从短信息服务、参考咨询服务、移动流媒体服务、远程教育服务等方面提出了利用3G技术开展农业信息服务的几种方式。

3G is a new-generation mobile communication system which combines the wireless network with multimedia.Here the concept and features of 3G technology are introduced,the feasibility of applying 3G to agricultural information services is analyzed,at last several application manners are introduced,such as short message services,mobile streaming media services,reference services,distance education sevices and so on.
