摘要
影视艺术是视听双频的大众传播艺术,因而影视翻译较之其它类型的翻译,显得独特而复杂。本文从大众传播中受众的角度,探讨字幕翻译的原则及策略,提出了字幕英汉翻译以受众为中心的总原则,同时给出并详细分析了支持这一总原则的分原则:合理的经济原则、口语化、易懂性原则。本文还相应提出了具体的翻译策略,如减译、缩译、阐译、标点符号的使用等。
An audiovisual program is a kind of multimedia performance where dialogues work together with visual images, soundtracks and music. As a result, audiovisual transhtion with various constraints is much more complicated than other types of translation. This article ventures to put forward a criterion, i.e. target audience orientation, for E-C subtitling. Namely, with a "gestalt image" of the whole program in his or her mind,a subtitling translator should be audience-oriented. Sub-principles, such as the principles of reasonable economy, legibility and colloquialism, are also identiffed and demonstrated. Moreover, corresponding strategies are put forward with examples.
