From the dimension of Relevance Theory and lexical context,the study probes into the cognitive relevance between vocabulary quantity,inferential competence and semantic cognition,finding that the understanding and using of a word,enslaved to its cognitive context,is in reality a dynamic inferring process based on pragmatic relevance.
