Zhu Yuanzhang′s Ideas and Policies about Confucianism

朱元璋虽然提倡三教合一,但却"以儒为主,佛道为辅",独尊儒教。他在尊孔崇儒的同时,却崇孔抑孟,实际上他所提倡的儒教是经过改造的程朱理学。而他崇奉程朱理学与忠孝仁义之政的目的是在思想文化上借重儒学来维护专制君主的绝对权威。

Although Zhu Yuanzhang advocated three religions unity,he praised highly Confucianism when he put Buddhism and Taoism in secondary.Meanwhile he exalted Confucius and restrained Mencius.But in fact,Confucianism which he advocated was reconstructive Neo-Confucianism.The purpose was maintaining absolutely autocratic authority by Confucianism,which he advocated Neo-Confucianism,filial piety and righteousness.
