《红楼梦》的续书为古今中外之最。续作产生早,续作数量多,续作学术化,是其三大特点。近期刘心武温皓然等人的最新续本,反映出新世纪对红楼梦续书的要求是,既不违背已有的主流红学研究成果,又能够续出时代意义,续出主体精神。可以概括为:"立足红学,忠实内心,施展才艺,面向时代。"

The sequels of Dream of Red Mansions have been the most extrordinary for the past and present, home and abroad. Its three major characteristics are：Earlier produce of sequel, more sequels in number, more aca- demic. The recent sequel by Liu Xinwu and Wen Haoran reflects the new century demands of its sequels as： not to be contrary to the mainstream of the existing research results of Redology on the one hand, and to continue out the contemporary significance,continuing the main spirit on the other. The paper summarizes as follows： ＂based on Redology,loyal to the inner world,displaying the talent and time-oriented. ＂
