Exploration of Deixis in English News from the Perspective of Pragmatics

新闻具有客观性、准确性、时效性等特点。指示语在新闻中的特殊运用不但要体现上述特点,还要满足采编或转载的需要。因此,有必要探讨原版英文报纸中人称、地点和时间指示语的使用情况。人称、地点和时间指示语的使用情况表明为了适应新闻报道的特殊性和采编的实际需要,新闻中的指示语一方面侧重于体现作者的中立,另一方面尽量避免对特定语境的依赖,保证内容的准确传达。

Therefore, it is necessary to explore the usages of person deixis, space deixis and time deixis in original English newspapers. The usages of person deixis, space deixis and time deixis show that in order to adapt to the special features of news and satisfy the practical needs of edition, on the one hand the deixis in news emphasizes on reflecting the author＇s neutrali- ty, on the other hand the use of deixis tries to avoid the dependence on certain context to ensure the accurate transmission.
