基于委婉语视角下的中西文化差异浅析

Analysis on the Cultural Differences Between China and the West From the Perspectine of Euphemisms

本文从委婉语的内涵出发,着重分析了英汉委婉语在中西文化背景下所体现出的道德价值观、宗教信仰、传统习俗以及政治军事等方面的特性,并进一步提出了把握英汉委婉语的文化特性对跨文化交际的积极作用。

Starting with the connotation of the euphemisms, this paper gives an analysis of the characteristics of the moral value, the religious belief, the traditional customs and the political and military aspect the English and Chinese euphemisms reflect in the context of their respectire cultures. And based on this, it points out the positive role the grasp of those cultural characteristics plays in cross -cultural communication.
