The scholars like Susan Bassnett and Andre Lefevere are engaged in translation studies from the point of culture, which causes a revolution of translation studies. Ulysses, called "the greatest English literature in the 20th Century", in which stream of consciousness is employed universally in the history of world literature. Not until 1980s were there two translated versions in Chinese by Jin Di, and Xiao Qian and Wen Jieruo. Not a few researchers focus on their strategies, style and annotation used in their translation, while the paper explores the influence of ideology on Ulysses translated in Chinese from the perspective of culture based on manipulative theory of Andre Lefevere.
