摘要
"现代性"概念不应当是现代文明的另一个指称,它所指谓的只是现代文明的内涵或曰文化。其涵义有三个层次:现代文明的质的规定性;现代文明的价值理想;现代文明的生活方式。中国现代性建构作为问题,内孕着两重要解决的主要矛盾:其一,人的现代化与社会现代化的统一问题;其二,现代性与中国性的统一问题。本文着重讨论第二个问题。现代性与中国性之统一的要义乃是后发现代性建构与后(期)现代性建构的统一问题。后发现代性意味着中国性向普世性的现代性开放,后(期)现代性则意味着现代性向特殊的中国性汲取滋养,以创化中国性与现代性相融汇的文化传统(不是传统文化)之河。中国现代性建构,从中国性角度看,在文化的生活方式层面之指标序列上,主要要致力的是:非普世性的亲友社群与超越文化;普世性问题却很可能是非普世性解决的全球化与生态化问题。
'Modernity'should not be considered as another name of modern civilization.In fact,modernity merely represents the connotation of modern civilization and it has three different levels: the intrinsic quality of modern civilization,the value orientation of modern civilization,and the life style of modern civilization.There are two major conflicts contained in the development of modernity of China: the modernization of people and the modernization of society,and that between the modernity and Chinese style.I will focus on how to resolve the second conflict in this paper,since another on the first conflict has been published on No.1 of the Journal this year.The essence of the integration of modernity and Chinese style is actually the integration of the developing-modernity and the later-modernity,while the developing-modernity here means that Chinese style will open to universalizational modernity;and the later-modernity means modernity absorbed nourishment from Chinese style.This integration will make a beginning for developing certain cultural tradition(but not a traditional culture) which merges Chinese style and modernity.The developing modernity of China with respect to Chinese style and to our cultural life style should concentrate on the relative community and the transcending culture which are non-universalization,however,universalization is possibly the key to solve the non-universalizational globalization and the ecologicalization.
