This essay focus on the hermeneutic interpretation of Euripides＇s play Bacchants.From the perspective of the problem of civilization and by the theory of Freud and the study findings of anthropology,the essay tries to throw some light on the essence of the tragedy of Bacchants.It discusses the discontent of civilization and the dangers that lurk in civilization and elucidates the nature of the rebellion against civilization.
