The Theoretical Development of Masculinity Studies in Contemporary West

作为一门自20世纪后半叶开始逐渐形成的新兴的独立学科,男性气质研究试图解构对社会性别和生理性别的单一理解。其研究理论在与女性主义的冲突、对话和结盟中经历了男性性角色,男性权威的表现,男性身份话语的生效方式及其与权力和权力抵抗的关系三个发展阶段。男性气质研究的理论发展表明有关男性气质、男性和男性在性别秩序中的地位已成为世界性的研究问题,且更强调地方特色。

Masculinity studies,as an independent and new discipline gradually established since the latter half of the 20th century,attempts to deconstruct the conventionally singular understanding of sex and gender.It has theoretically undergone three stages in its conflict,dialogue and alignment with feminism,discussing from the sex role to the effective means of male identity discourse in relation to power and resistance to power via representation of masculinities.This theoretical trace indicates that concerns with masculinities,men and men＇s location in gender order have been a worldwide topic,particularly emphasizing the local color of masculinities.
