Consciousness of Environmental Protection in Xinjiang Ethnic Taboos

早期以狩猎和畜牧业为主的西域游牧民族,对大自然的依赖,对自然和自然力的不可把握性、神秘性,使他们有了对整个自然界包括动物在内的信仰而产生了一系列的禁忌习俗。在这些禁忌习俗中的尊重自然、依靠自然的生存理念及民间信禁忌中渗透着的不自觉地思想意识——原始游牧民族环境保护意识,对于自身生存环境的一种内在的客观协调作用,在自发状态下为新疆环境保护做出不可估量的贡献。

In the primitive age,the nomads in the Western Regions of China,who mainly depended on hunting and stock raising,were awed into the mysterious and uncertain nature including some animals.Hence,a series of taboos came into being in ethnic groups.Their living idea influenced unconsciously by these taboos-environmental consciousness of the primitive nomads-played an internal and external coordinating function in the living surroundings and spontaneously made a far reaching and uncountable contribution to the environmental protection in Xinjiang.
