Sun Huifen＇s novels involve quite a few familial narrative elements.Different from many other novelists＇ clan novels,her novels have neither grand narration nor elaborate plot design.Instead,the clan sense is reflected by the seemingly unimportant characters,especially by the character description of the Shens.The clan sense in Sun Huifen ＇s novels is embodied by three features,namely the eagerness to become urban citizens,clan-oriented ideology and the deep reliance on the spirit orientation.
