棉花新品种陕2234的选育

BREEDING OF A NEW COTTON VARIETY-SHAAN 2234

陕2234是以陕5655×sp21杂交后代为母本，辽756－57为父本进行杂交，于枯、黄萎混生病圃连续选择培育而成。该品种纤维产量高，品质优良，兼抗枯、黄萎病，中熟偏早。1995～1997年，陕西省中熟棉区试，皮棉产量，较对照品种中棉19号增产13．3％，居参试品种首位。

A new variety of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), Shaan 2234, was developed in hybridization with an offspring of 'Shaan 5655 X sp21'as the maternal parent and Liao 756 - 57 as the paternal parent.Consecutive selection was made in a mixed disease nursery of fusarium and verticillium wilt. The variety is charecterized by high yield, fine quality,resistance to both fusarium and verticillium wilt and early-medium maturity.In Shaanxi Cotton Variety Regional Test in 1995 ~1997, Shaan 2234 ranked first in the varieties tested, giving an average lint yield of 1024.5 kg/ha and outyielding the control variety Zhongmian 19 by 13. 3%.
