竞争性是体育的本质属性之一,竞争意指双方或多方在规则限定下追求卓越、永争第一的努力拼争,源自对日常生活中竞争现象的模仿。竞争性基础地位决定了体育的规则性和娱乐性,并赋予体育道德规训、经济赢利、政治宣教的3种外在功能,从而提供了体育异化的可能性,当辅之以某些外部条件时,体育就会异化。竞争性对体育具有全面性的影响,在体育诸多本质属性中处于显要位置。
