论外语院校英语专业ESP课程的定位

On the Positioning of ESP Courses for English Major

ESP(专门用途英语)课程对于培养复合型外语人才的重要性已经是毋庸置疑的,但是在实际的外语院校英语专业课程设置中,ESP课程的定位仍有只重形式,不重内容的嫌疑。本文试图通过分析ESP与EGP(通用英语)的区别与联系,以及英语专业ESP与大学英语ESP的区别与联系,找到更明确合理的外语院校英语专业ESP课程的定位,并且探讨目前英语专业ESP课程低效的原因,从而找到相应解决途径。

There is no doubt about the importance of ESP（English for Specific Purposes）courses for training interdisciplinary talents of foreign languages. Nevertheless, in practice, it is still suspected that, in English course design, ESP courses are manifested only in the form, instead of content. This thesis aims to look for a clearer and more reasonable position for ESP courses for English major, through the analysis of the differences and connections between ESP and EGP （English for General Purposes）, ESP courses for English major and ESP courses for Non-English major as well. This thesis also discusses the reasons for the low efficiency of ESP courses for English major, and ways to solve this problem.
