Based on students＇ working tasks in specific positions,in combination with current employment-orientated guiding principle in higher vocational education,this essay introduces the teaching innovation of the specialty English for students majoring in centralized control operation of the thermal power plant in the aspects of teaching targets,teaching materials,teaching contents and teaching approaches,to increase its pertinence and practicability in accordance with the employment-orientated guiding principle.
