The Great Britain was the first industrial country in the Industrial Revolution.The English Landscape Garden,which came out in the Great Britain,witnessed the transformation from agriculture era to industrial era of the landscape history.Therefore,the historical context contributed to this profound transformation.China is getting more and more international attention.The Chinese culture and economy development and the constant changing global context are the macro factors that promote the development of the contemporary Chinese landscape.This paper analyzes the difference of the effects of macro context on the English landscape gardens and contemporary Chinese landscapes,which will be helpful for the development of contemporary Chinese landscapes.
