The experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of substituting amino acid-chelated trace element for inorganic trace element in diet of broiler on growth performance, nutrient metabolizability and content of the trace elements in feces. 300 zero-day-old Guangxi yellow broilers (female) were randomly divided into 5 groups with 6 replicates and 10 birds per replicate. The feeding trial lasted for 63 days. The dietary of control group Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn were provided by FeSO4oH20, CuSO4.5H2O, MnSO4-H20 and ZnO, the levels were Fe100mg/kg, Cu 20mg/kg, Mn 120mg/kg, Zn 120mg/ kg respectively. The experiment group the dietary inorganic element levels of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% were substituted by the methionine-chelated Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn of 12.5%, 25.0%, 37.5% and 50.0% respectively. The results showed that substituting methionine-chelated Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn for dietary inorganic salts with different proportion could, to a certain extent, increase the growth performance, improve dietary nutrient utilization, increase feeding benefit and reduce the trace elements excretion in feces. Especially, the effect of substituting 37.5% methionine-chelated Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn for 75% of the dietary corresponding inorganic trace elements was better than others.
