Roots of the Cognitive View of Metaphor in German Romanticism

在西方哲学史上,隐喻有三次成为焦点:一次是古希腊时期以亚里士多德为代表的古典主义隐喻观;一次是18至19世纪以德国浪漫主义为发端的欧洲浪漫主义隐喻观;一次是20世纪末至今以认知科学发展为背景的认知主义隐喻观。本文比较浪漫主义隐喻观和认知主义隐喻观以及德国浪漫主义哲学和认知体验主义哲学,从而揭示认知隐喻观的德国浪漫主义根源。

In the history of Western philosophy,there are three periods when metaphor became the focus of attention：The first tradition represented by Aristotle is the Classical view of metaphor in ancient Greece;the second,which grew from German Romanticism,is the Romantic view of metaphor in Europe during the 18th and 19th century,and the third one,grounded in cognitive science development,is the cognitive view of metaphor since the end of the 20th century.This article makes comparisons between Romantic view of metaphor and cognitive view of metaphor,as well as comparisons between German romanticism philosophy and cognitive embodied philosophy,so as to reveal the roots of the cognitive view of metaphor in German Romanticism.
