手机是全球化社会的新细胞,是人类获得全面解放的新工具。手机短信小说,作为以手机为载体并通过手机进行创作、传播、阅读的文学新样式,体现了现代科技与时尚文化联姻并共同促进文学纵深发展的新动向。但我们也应该看到,当下手机小说的勃兴,与其说是文学事件,还不如说是IT事件,它的流行和轰动主要是电信业与媒体互动的结果,是移动媒介时代特有的"e拇指神话"。

Mobile phone is a new cell of the globalizing society,a tool by which human beings march towards full emancipation.Cell-phone novels,a new form of literature using mobile phones as the main medium of production,transmission,and reading,reflect the new trends of combining modern technology and vogue culture.However,we should also be aware of the fact that the prevalence of cell-phone novels is more of an IT event than a literary event.The popularity and mass transmission of cell-phone novels are a result of the interaction between telecom business and the media,which jointly give rise to the phenomenon of the ＂e-thumb myth＂.
