1989年列入国家计划的16种主要化工产品产量,都超额完成国家计划;全年完成化工总产值728亿元,比上年增长6%,提前一年实现第一个十年翻一番的目标。全年完成基建投资35亿元,限额以上技术改造投资5.27亿元。获得国家科技进步奖15项,“七五”国家科技攻关项目阶段成果奖18项,部级科技进步奖116项。化工产品出口创汇额20.9亿美元,比上年增长18.7%。

The production of 16 main chemicals, which had been included in the national plan, was all overfulfilled. The total output value of the chemical industry in 1989 reached 72.8 billion yuan, an increase of 6% over the previous year, realizing the target of doubling the output of the chemical industry one year ahead of time. The capital investment of the chemical industry in 1989 amounted to 3.5 billion yuan and the investment for technical renovation above certain quota allocated by the Government was 527 million yuan. In 1989 the chemical industry won 15 National Science and Technology Progress Prizes, 18 Achievement Prizes of Key National Science and Technology Projects in the 7th-Five-Year Plan and 115 Science and Technology Progress Prizes of the Ministry of Chemical Industry. An amount of 2.09 billion US dollars was earned through export of chemicals in 1989, an increase of 18.7% compared with the previous year.
