There is a person called Korguz who is mentioned in the History of Yuan. The Mongolian elite tomb at the Shuzhuangtiu site in Guyuan county has yielded a broken stele on which a name called ' Xiang Korguz' (襄阔里吉思) was carved. This evidence shows that the occupant should be the one who was conferred the title of King of Jinning (晋宁) and granted the posthumous title of Zhongxiang (忠襄) by Emperor Huizong of Yuan, and was buffed in Luanjing. This person should not be confused with the other Korguz who was the chief of ongiid tribe during the early Yuan Dynasty and the son-in-law of Kublai Khan, and was bestowed the title of King of Tang (唐) and offered the posthumous title of Zhongxian (忠献). In addition, the tomb occupant should not be the same person who was also called Korguz but belonged to Alchidai tribe according to the volume 134 of the History of Yuan. Thus, we should abjure on the groundless point mentioned in the Records of the Grand Historian of Mughal (Mengwuer Shiji 蒙兀儿史记) by Tu Ji (屠寄) that these two Korguz were the identical person.
