An Interpretation of Locke's Idea of Civil Society

洛克的公民社会思想在公民社会理论发展史上具有重要的地位和作用。洛克认为,"自然状态"虽然是一种人人向往的生存状态,但同时又有很多缺陷,所以,人们应当遵循自然法的指引,走出自然状态,与政府订立契约,构建公民社会。洛克的公民社会理论是在"天赋人权"、"社会契约"观念的基础上构建的。当然,洛克对于公民社会与政治国家并没有像现代公民社会论者那样做出明确的区分。

Locke＇s idea of civil society plays an important role in the history of the civil society theory.According to Locke＇s idea of civil society,though ＂natural state＂ is yearned for by everyone,it still has some defects.Therefore,people need to,under the direction of natural law,walk out of natural state to reach agreement and construct civil society.Locke＇s idea of civil society is based on the idea of ＂natural rights＂and ＂social contract＂.Of course,Locke hadn＇t made a clear distinction between civil society and political country like modern theorists of civil society.
