"High Profile" Nationalism before Anti-Japanese War——From the Perspective of Eastern Miscellany’s Claim to Japan

20世纪20年代末至七七事变期间,日本对华扩大侵略。《东方杂志》分析了日本侵华的经济因素和国际情势,呼吁当局对日经济绝交,当战则战,国内各派应当团结对外。这是在民族危亡下,有识之士申诉的救国主张,是一种高调的民族主义。

Japan＇ s invasion to China expanded during the late 1920s to July 7 Incident of 1937. By an- alyzing the economic factors and international situation of Japan＇ s invasion to China, Eastern Miscellany called on the authorities to break off the economic relations with Japan, and meet the enemies head-on when the war is coming; besides, domestic factions should unite unanimously. All these showed Chinese patriots＇ proposals for saving the country under the national crisis, which is high-profile nationalism.
