This article takes a brief look at the fact that the quality of float glass in our country still lags behind the worlds＇ advanced level; it also points out the negative effects that points defects have on the quality of float glass. To emphasize on the importance of improving quality through advanced production and management methods and skills, this article analyzes and expounds on the following aspects including restrictions on point defects according to Flat Glass standard, methods to detect point defects on float glass, measures to control point defects and approaches to observe and examine the categories of point defects.
