任鸿隽与中国科学社

Ren Hong-jun and the Science Society of China

任鸿隽是中国科学社的发起人之一和首任社长。为了发展中国的现代科学事业,一方面,他参与创办了《科学》杂志和中国科学社,宣传科学知识和科学精神;另一方面,为了营造良好发展科学事业的环境,他选择了科学事业家的角色,参与社务管理,为中国科学社的发展出谋划策。在任鸿隽及其同仁的共同努力下,中国科学社尝试将科学体制化引入中国,不仅成为科学传播的舞台,也是中国科学研究的重要阵地和最有影响力的科学社团。可以说,任鸿隽对中国科学社和中国现代科学事业的发展作出了卓越贡献。

Ren Hong-jun was one of the initiators of the Science Society of China and the first director. In order to develop Chinese modem science, he took part in establishment of Science Magazine and Science Society of China. In the meanwhile, in order to create the fight conditions for development of science undertakings, he chose to be propeller of Chinese modem science undertakings and participated in administration of affairs of the Science Society of China. With their efforts, the Science Society of China tried to introduce western science institutionalization to China. It not only became the stage of propagation of science, but also an important position of science research and one of the most influential scientific community. It can be said that Ren Hong-jun made outstanding contributions to the Science Society of China and the development of Chinese modem science undertakings.
