Detailed description of the structure,operation and performance of single crystal silicon IR liquid crystal light valve(IR LCLV)is given.Experiment results obtained from and IR LCLV utilizing SHARP projector or 2” CRT as the visible image input source and an extended IR source (blackbody)as the projection beam are presented.
