蒙元统治初期的山东东平,在严实父子及其幕客的共同努力下,政局日趋稳定,经济日益富庶,文化繁荣尤其值得称道。东平文化的繁盛局面,不仅得力于严实父子招贤纳士,也与金代遗民的文化传承意识密切相关。在多种合力的作用下,东平地区掀起文化复兴活动,使中原地区得以多文化并存,对元初文明的开创具有深远意义。

At the beginning of Yuan Dynasty,Yan-shi and his sons governed Dongping and dedicated to the economic and cultural recovery.They tried their best to introduce personnel,out of their admiration,more and more adherents group around in Dongping.With the power of the Yanshi governor,the adherents participated in many activities to cultural revival,which was of great significance to the cultural inheritance.
