As the representative of Chinese writing brush in Tang and Song dynasties,writing brush made in Xuanzhou plays an important role in the development of Chinese writing brush.It also made a major impact on the technique of writing brush-making in Huzhou and other areas.By investigating the rise and decline of the writing brush-making in Xuanzhou,the author summarized that Xuanzhou owed the success to its superior raw materials and made sustainable development by mastering the key techniques and making innovations,while in the end it declined for the reason of the change of politics,economy,culture and other social factors.
