白日升天在道教而言,乃是无上高深之术。道教尊重女性,其神系中有大量的女神、女仙存在,在修炼、戒律、教义、组织等方面亦能男女一视同仁。从唐代的女子白日升仙神话建构过程中,反映出当时民间与官方、宗教与政治各自所起的重要作用及其背后的深层原因。
