A paper-centered special exhibition on singing insects

本文旨在介绍鸣虫特展在因应环保和低碳的考虑下，使用了可回收、重量轻的瓦楞纸为主要制作展览架构的绿色材料；在便于制作、组装和经营的考虑下，应用了模块化的设计方式；为体现展览与中华文化的关联，采用了具中华文化意象的入口、面板和影片展出形式；考虑到展览与生态议题相关，在展览的形、音、色上运用了具生态内涵的展示形式。文章概要介绍鸣虫特展透过面板、影音、动画、互动游戏和操作展品等形式，从科学、文化与艺术等层面来介绍鸣虫与人类之间的密切关系。

This synopsis summarizes how environmental and low-carbon considerations have prompted to the use of corrugated paper -- a green material both recyclable and lightweight as the key ingredient in designing the overall framework of the exhibition. A modulization approach is adopted to facilitate production, assembly and maintenance. To reinforce the exhibition＇s association with Chinese culture, suggestive patterns and images are employed everywhere, from the entrance to the exhibition and display boards to thematic films to be presented over the course of the show. While the exhibition categorically has its ecological aspects, such implications abound in all the shapes, sounds and colors at the venu~ By making use of display boards, A/V content, animations, interactive games and operable displays, the Singing Insects Special Exhibition aims to illustrate the close relationship- scientific, cultural and artistic -- between these insects and humans.
