The treatment for erectiledysfunction were classified into five major classes by their mode of action: ① central initiators, ② peripheral initiators, ③central conditioners, ④peripheral conditioners, ⑤ other. Drugs in these classes could be further subdivided by the routes of administration and the mechanisms of specificity.
