In order to improve the qualities of base paper for coated papers, which include bending stiffness, beating property, formation, and so on, improvement and transformation was carried out from the composition of raw meterials, beating degree, process technology, and reformation of equipment, including headbox and cleaner. The quality of the base paper was improved significantly.
