中国高职高专师生英语语法观对比研究

A Comparative Study of the Perceptions Concerning English Grammar between Teachers and Students from Chinese Vocational Colleges

摘要 课题组旨在调查我国高职高专师生英语语法观总体现状和差异。结果表明,高职高专师生总体认为语法学习至关重要,有助于提高英语表达准确性和口头交际能力,并认为语法教学应在完整、真实、富有意义的语境中,采用演绎归纳和明示法等灵活多样的方法。由于语言学习经历和水平的差异,师生还存在着显著性差异:(1)教师能更深刻理解语法在语言学习中的作用,并有效地把语言知识转化为交际能力;(2)学生在语法学习过程中有为难情绪,需要适量的语法操练和机械记忆;(3)教师能更从英文材料中总结归纳语言规则,并能够较好地运用语言规则进行语言学习和交流,有意识地纠正语法错误,监控语言表达准确性,同时又能克服语言规则,维持正常交流。研究结果为有效实施英语语法教学和提高学生英语实际应用能力提供科学实证数据和方法论指导。 This research group attempts to investigate the overall situations and the differences of perceptions concerning English grammar between teachers and students from Chinese vocational colleges. Its findings indicate that the teachers and students there, as a whole, think it is critically important to learn English grammar well, which is helpful in improving communication orally and accurately, and argue that grammar instruction should be conducted in a complete, meaningful and real context, adopting various and flexible approaches such as inductive method, deductive method, explicit method and so on. Due to different language learning experiences and proficiency between the teachers and students from Chinese vocational colleges, there are significant differences in a good many perceptions concerning English grammar:1)the role of grammar in English learning is more deeply understood by the teachers there than the students, with the teachers more effectively transferring language knowledge into communicative competence, 2) the students there feel more difficult than the teachers in the process of learning grammar, with more practice and mechanical memories, 3) the teachers there are more able to summarize and induce language rules from English materials, which are easily applied to further learning and communicating with others, correcting grammatical errors, monitoring accurate expression and overcoming language rules for keeping communication continuing. The findings are expected to provide empirical data and pedagogical implication for more effective implementation of English grammar instruction there and enhancement of the student’s practical ability of using English.
